This is pretty good for a first video game. I have a couple of suggestions:
1. Explain the controls (I've heard there was an attack but couldn't find it)
2. Give a backstory (So who's Ron, anyway?)
3. I suppose you could make the screen bigger, but for me it's not a priority.
Have fun!
Author's Response:
Well in the beginning there is a menu where the buttons are shown. =)
Also when you die you can jump to the menu.
Thanks for your review.=)

I'm glad you've got a big project in the works and all, but honestly, I could just watch these test things forever. You somehow manage to blend humor and romance and violence together in sketch stories around a rotating cast of three. I don't know how you do it. I've never seen anybody produce this kind of work before, much less in this volume. You rock, dude.

It's clear that a lot of work went into this, but the game would be a lot better with instructions. Which is not to say that there's no place for a "cold opening" in video games as a whole, but in this case I never really knew what was going on and it took too long to become clear. Also, the music loops over itself when I have to start over.
You really owe it to yourself to go back and fix these things. You're so close to greatness that calling it quits now would just be a shame.

I think the thing that impressed me most was the stereo sound effects. I can't remember playing a Newgrounds game that had stereo before. Nice job!

Intrinsically, this is not a very gripping game, but I think it shows real potential. The handling is good, but driving around in the same loop ten times didn't really grip me - plus, music would be nice. Why not make a sequel, where you get to different tracks by beating the one before under a time limit? You could choose fr different cars and have power ups and everything. It could be called Basic Racing Game II: The Widowmaker.
Or not. Just throwing that out there. Best of luck to you - drive safe!
Author's Response:
Sequel: You're stealing my brainwaves LOL! Yeah, a sequel to this may actually come out in the future. I have been working on putting music, better graphics, time limit, and cars. Powerups on the other hand will make my game look a bit too fake. I prefer to have that realism still there to it.
Drive safe: Lol, yeah, I will. I keep my bad driving for the video games (GTA, Burnout, NFS)
Thanks for the feedback.

Something tells me that, when gas his $5.00 a gallon, this is what the last SUV owner on earth is going to be doing with his free time. Goin' out in style. The handling was pretty good, and I salute you for making it possible to drive through trees after a quick lurch (most games stop me completely and make me drive around the trees - where's the fun in that?)
Just one suggestion: could you turn the "wheel squeal" down a little bit? I know the quick fix for this is "turn your speakers off," but I had to wait because I was on a time limit.

I'm torn. This concept shows great potential, but there's a lot of stuff I think needs to be sieved out of it. If you're up for a little creative criticism, I have suggestions.
First, this should be more about Washington, so the name has to change. Anybody watching this would probably wonder if he or she was going crazy. Given, your user name is TheMentalInstitute, but I don't think you want people to be distracted by the sound of their own brains melting. Make it clear this is all about hardcore George Washington.
Secondly, I think you might want to remove some of the really crazy crap that shows up in the video. I laughed at the toucan mask, but the truck seemed a little over the top. Don't ask me why - it's just a toss-up. I'm also torn on the AK-47 that squirts water, but I'd leave the giant salamander.
Third - and this is only if you're feeling really ambitious: Replace the music and use - wait for it - one of Washington's OWN SPEECHES, set to a heavy-metal backdrop. That would be front page material, right there.
As it stands (that is, if you plan to make no modifications or a sequel), this is pretty good. I don't really get it, but it's pretty good.
Author's Response:
ah, thanks for the suggestions.
I called it Similar to Pyrite because I name all my music videos after the song they are of. I agree it should have been something else in this instance however.
Everything used in the video is from previous The George Washingtons cartoons I made. That's why some may have seemed out of place or weird.
Good ideas, if nothing else I'll take them into consideration when making another cartoon like this. Thanks.

Since it's a one-move game, it took me awhile to decide, but the action of repeatedly shooting cowboys dead proved to be inexplicably hilarious. Plus, I liked how the "evil" cowboy at the end glowed red. This game, given the modesty of its premise, is pretty awesome.

Not to say I couldn't see your effort. There is solid, Warner Brothers-level craftsmanship in this, and if you don't do this for a living you might consider it. But the "twist" ending actually felt more like entrapment - I can see how some people might find Chuck's gristly demise to be hilarious, but I'm honestly not one of them.

Couple of things. The sound effects are too loud, I don't know what to do with circles when they fuse into the Master Card logo, and the blue circles look too much like the teleports.
Not bad, though.
